I cannot ping resolver1.dyndnsinternetguide.com (126.96.36.199).
Neither can a number of ping tools I've tried - e.g.
Does anyone know how long it's been down?

It is not down. "ping" is not useful as a diagnostic tool across the Internet. It uses ICMP packets, which are very commonly ignored (blocked).
If you run the command below from a command prompt/terminal window, you'll see for yourself that you get a response from 188.8.131.52.
nslookup dyndnscommunity.com 184.108.40.206
