Hi, I am trying without success, to set up my DDNS using the DynDNS service on my Belkin F5D8236 v1 N Router. Firmware v1.00.02.
I have set up an accout with DynDNS and tested this - all working. I have inputted the correct information on DDNS tab in my Belkin Router, i.e name, password and URL.
I have also set up port forwarding for my Iomega NAS drive connected to the router, port 443 and 21 for UTP for both inbound and private ports for TCP and UDP with correct IP address.
On the DDNS tab it is saying DDNS is disabled on my Belkin Router.
I cannot connect to the Iomega NAS drive. On my pc it does have and Iomega Discovery Tool that I have to input my admin and passord before I can view what is on the NAS.
Obviously I am doing something basic wrong, but struggling to find out what!
Any help would be appreciated.

Please work through this guide, which covers common problems and how to resolve them.
For your Belkin Router, you don't enter a URL you enter a hostname - exactly as it appears in your DynDNS account. If you have an ADSL modem then it may also be a router and you may have to put it into bridge mode, or forward the ports from it to the WAN IP of the Belkin.
It could also be that you need to configure the NAS to allow remote access.
If after working through the guide you still have problems please edit your question and provide:
Hi thanks for this. i went thru the guide and no luck, still cannot connect to my NAS outside my home network. Answers to your questions are: Iomega NAS Model: MDHD500-N S/N 31704000R Static IP 192.168.2.1 Netmask 255.255.255.0 Gateway 192.168.2.1
Can you please double check the static IP you've given - it should be different from the router's LAN IP (
I can see port
21/TCP (FTP) and
80/TCP (HTTP) open on your hostname, though FTP is well known for being difficult to get working when the FTP server is behind NAT.
When testing remotely, are you testing only with HTTPS (which would require port
443/TCP) and FTP?

I have added port 443 tcp on my router with no success
443/TCP is showing as Refused when I use the Open Port tool. This suggests a security setting on your NAS that you need to change.
