I used the DynDNS Updater more than 6 months, but now it doesn´t work anymore. I read other forums but didn´t find a solution for my problem.
I use Windows 2000 Service Pack4 and the DynDNS Updater 4.1.6 Firefox 3.1.16 is my standard browser.
When the updater tries to change the ip it still shows the same error:
01-13-2011 13:14:03 - WINHTTP: SSL failure. 01-13-2011 13:14:04 - GetHostList: WinHttpSendRequest failed.
Unable to send the request to the HTTP server.
The internet works without any problem. I have a direct connection to the internet(no router or anything else between)
I hope someone can help me to find a solution! Thanks in advance!

In short, DynDNS.com had to update its SSL Certificate. This new SSL Certificate requires a new root CA that doesn't come with Windows 2000. The fix is to install the new root CA into your Windows 2000 computer.
Long term, you are better served getting off Windows 2000, as Microsoft no longer supports that OS with even security updates. Windows 2000 is very vulnerable to attack now and not to mention, more incompatibilities with all software is going to start appearing.
