I have had an account here for 30-60 days now with a night owl security system. It has worked fine and Ive been forwarding the ports with no problem until today. Now the IP and url both go to an unable to connect page. Nothing has changed in the router or security system. I was just wondering if this was a temporary dyndns problem. Internet connection at the security system and router are working properly.

This clearly indicates a problem with the built-in web sever of your security system, although you think it is not. Your browser is unable to get to the security system's web page, because there is none at the URL you specify. Can you still reach the security system from another computer in the same network, using the internal name or internal IP address? You should be able to do this as a prerequisite, else connecting from outside doesn't make sense at all.
When trying to connect to your network, DNS is already over and gone, so this is nothing to do with DynDNS, especially as you are also unable to connect by using the public IP address. What you can try is to reboot your security system and also your router and/or to recheck the configuration of your devices. If the problem persists, please refer to the support of your security system.
