yeah, I know - I'm one of those "leeches" that tries to get everything for free for as long as possible, but honestly, in this case, I'm a zero-maintenance customer - I have a static IP on a DSL line that hasn't changed since day 1. I set my IP up on dyndns,ORG, and never bothered them again. Activity to my site "from the outside" is probably down in the noise, as they say (fewer than 1000 hits a year, probably)
since that time, ".ORG" has died and merged into ".com" it seems. then came the need for 'activity" on the site at least once a month - since my IP is static, and I can generally manage my own technical support, I don't have any /need/ to visit "this site" - EVER.
now it seems that since I missed my last "refresh" cycle, my account went "poof" and I can't get back to the settings I had before - the "homelinux.net" domain has been dropped from the list of domains offered "for free".
sadly, this only enrages me and pushes me to find another service.
