Is there a way to access the website when my pc is shutdown?

Hello there , I was just wondering that is there a possible way , to have access to my website ( created from dyndns.com) when my laptop is off . Which i guess is the same thing like stopping XAMPP . Please dont mind i am just a noob.

Or is this actually possible. As i am planning out a wordpress blog but cant make my laptop on 24/7 :) .

Any help will be appreciated ?

Short answer: No. If the website is running on the laptop computer, and that computer is turned off, then there is no way of accessing it.

If you need/want to have your blog available 24/7, but you don't always have a computer running, then you will have to host it somewhere else. For instance, you can create a free, centrally hosted Wordpress blog at Wordpress.com.

Not if it's running on the laptop. You'd need to have it hosted on a system that's always on to have it available when your computer is switched off.

Think of it in terms of your phone - if you unplug it (or switch it off if it's a mobile) you can't make calls on it. It's the same with the computer - if you switch it off then you can't access services on it.

I think it might be posible... make a backup of your website at the time before you shutdown PC, import it to a free hosting service, redirect that url to dyndns url. Just my thoughts, haven't tried it. Any comment is weldom.

This is what has already been proposed by Viking Tiger: then you will have to host it somewhere else.
