[Closed] IE8 security keeps blocking webclient.cab download

throws up hands I give up!!! I have tested and retested my router, dvr and dynDNS host name and everything on the surface works. This is my dyndns report on my port forwarding: O67.49.144.34:80 is open and accepting connections. This indicates the port is not being blocked by either a firewall or your ISP and is currently operational.

The problem comes when I try to access my webcams from the office or any other computer. What happens is I put in my hostname, http://kerchohana.dnsdojo.net, then the webpage opens and ask me to allow Active X. The screen in the background is blue with an outline of a box. I click Allow. The next box that pops up asks me to install the webclient.cab, I click Yes. Then I get an error message from IE saying that "Windows has blocked this software because it cannot verify the publisher". I've read the microsoft website and done everything they suggested. I've searched the internet for related questions and answers; and tried all suggestions. Nothing works. I am totally LOST, CONFUSED, and FRUSTRATED. Can someone please me? I have been working on this for 2 days and I'm beat.

The question has been closed Apr 15 '11 at 10:33 AM by Cry Havok for the following reason:

The problem relates to the configuration of IE and the DVR's plugin. As such it is beyond the scope of this forum.

Well, you've done everything we can help with, since you can get to the DVR.

I'd suggest you consider asking on some of the DVR specific forums that are about, or asking the manufacturer of your DVR. It's highly unlikely that you're the first person to encounter this. When you do that don't forget to say what you've done, since that you've tried "all suggestions" doesn't tell anybody anything useful. For instance this, this and this all look relevant.

Thank you, I appreciate your reply and suggestion. I will try calling the manufacturer... maybe the unit is defective.
