What are the steps to login to my internal ftp server, from the Internet?

I have already setup a DYNDNS and my router shows all ports that I need are opened.

I want to login to server on my LAN, from outside my LAN, however when I type the external IP, I get my ISPs router gonfig login screen. How do I login to the server?

Turns out that I had to uninstall MS ISA 2004 from my server. Once I did that, I could connect.

Thanks for all the responses!

Now you should click the check mark beside the most relevant answer, maybe yours, so that this can be closed off. This is how this forum works. Thanks.

Did you test to see if your ports are detected using the Dyndns open port tool

Please don't use comments, even when notification works only the person who's post you're commenting on sees the notification.

At the moment, when testing externally, you're presumably just entering the hostname into the web browser? That means the web browser will assume you want to connect to a web server (HTTP - port 80). To tell it that you're connecting to an FTP server you have to put ftp:// before the hostname.

Edit:
I.e. in a form like ftp://yourname.dyndns.org/ or ftp://yourname.dyndns.org:portnbr/
or with IP address: ftp://71.170.84.143/ or ftp://71.170.84.143:portnbr/

If you want to access an FTP server, don't use HTTP. Forward the FTP ports (21 and possibly 20) and use ftp://.

The overall process is described here, including what to do if you're getting your router's login page.

I need Layman's terms I suppose?! I cannot get the proper end results - even with your "answer". Thanks anyway.
