Frankly speaking, I dont really mind this and I can't complain too much about free service. I still have the option to bear the hassle, to pay or to move away, no big deal.
BUT I could not understand why things happened in such a way.
In my case, I only received 2 emails from DYN. The first one is "Your free Dyn hostname will expire in 5 days" on May 7. Then on May 10 "SLA Update For Dyn Non-Paid Users" which introduced the new policy, how nice. Like the Pearl Habour attack in WWII - shoot first, declare war later.
I dont know when the new policy take effect from, and why my free hostname warrant a termination in just 5 days. If it is due to 30-days without login at least I should have a month.
Like most people I dont check all the email every 5 days, I was shock to know my hostname is now gone because I missed the "Terminate in 5 days" email by a few days.
DYN you are fine to get rid of free users like us, but a successful business model doesn't use poor communication like this. Good luck DYN, reputation can't buy with gold.Best regard, A 10 years+ angry DYNDNS user
