I'm using Smartermail and it stopped working on port 25 yesterday apparently due to Comcast blocking it. So I upgraded to the Gateway and set it to port 587. Opened that port on my router and I see smartermail already has it set up. Still no email.
DYN says it can reach it but is getting denied.Any suggestions?

That's because by default port
587 is used for authenticated mail clients submitting email for delivery, not for other mail servers. You need to either:

Actually, after a couple of days trying to configure each part between Comcast, Dyn, Smartermail, and Microsoft (for the email software) the final step was in Smartermail. Port 587 wasn't checked. But not only does it need to be checked it needed to be named SMTP. Sometimes like in the router names don't mean anything and are just there for description so it is easy to overlook. I should note Smartermail support told me it couldn't work.
But hopefull none of those birds will change things on me again! (right)
