Hello to all,
I am experiencing problems since some days. I am using Windows UpdateClent 4.1.10 (current version). Everything was fine for some years and now the UpdateClient puts wrong IP to the Dyn-Database.
I checked the LOG and the client finds the correct address and sends it to Dyn.com but when I log in to Dyn.com and go to manage hosts I can see a complete different IP. Currently I have this IP: 220.127.116.11 (determined correctly by the client – see LOG below) in “manage hosts” I could see (before changing it manually) 93.xx.xx.xx (sorry I forgot to take note before changing it).
This behavior is since March 7th (may be longer?)
I had the client installed on an Server 2003 (for many years). I removed the client, downloaded it new and reinstalled it after cleaning the installation directory and the registry – same result. Then I deactivated it on the server and made a fresh install to an XP client machine – same result (the LOG is from the XP machine)

There are 2 possibilities, if the IP address is showing against Your current location's IP address then you can ignore it - it's just reporting the IP your web browser is coming from and it probably means you're using a proxy server.
If it is in the IP Address box above that then it means you have another update client running that's updating it with that IP address. The best solution to resolving that is to disable that update client. If you can't find that update client then change the password on your account, which will cause it to stop authenticating.
No, it means that you, or somebody who knew your username and password, set up another update client. The first is more likely and you probably simply forgot about it.
Hmm actually the fact that it works fine now makes me a bit thoughtful. I changed Password and now everything is fine again. this means that someone else was sending IP to my account.
But OK - thanks for that simple idea.

So well, thanks for the answer. The IP is in the box and in the records of Dyn.com (a nslookup will result in the wrong adress).
I just changed Password since I don't have a second Client. We will see what will happen at next Change of IP...
I will come back with results.
