My PC/NB is set to 192.168.1.12 with the same subnet mask as the DVR. My question is, i am not able to ping or connect to my DVR with the default IP (192.168.1.10) provided by the user manual. It was working fine until my free DVRDNS account got revoked due to inactivity for 30 days. Not to confuse you, this system was set up by a vendor and i am not sure if the DVR default IP 192.168.1.10 had been changed to another one. Can the DVR default IP address be changed? if yes, how can i see the current DVR IP address? i need to connect to the DVR to re-configure the setting to make it work.

Please read and work through this guide. If you're using IP addresses then at no point are any of DynDNS's services involved. I'd be certain that the DVRs IP can be changed - it's manual should tell you. If you don't have the manual then try asking (with the make and model) on a DVR forum.
