Hootoo camera

I can access my camera locally, but not remotely. I have set port forwarding to port 8200 on actiontec pk5000 and set the ddns on my camera to direct to my pro account. It appears to be set up and checks out. When I run the tester to find out if router is accessible it says it passes the test. I can not access by using external ip address or my dyndns address. Am I supposed to be able to view my camera by typing in dyndns site and if so, how does that look?

by typing in my dyndns like this. http://www.nameofddns.dyndns.org:8200. is that correct?

You cannot use www in www.example.dyndns.org if you:

  • have a free account;
  • have not "wildcard" enabled for your hostname on Pro.

I.e. you may be able to only use example.dyndns.org instead.

I have enabled port forwarding on port 8200 for my router, is there anything else I need to do on actiontec pk 5000?

If it has a DDNS update client and you don't use another, you'll want to enable this. But, as you said, you already use your camera for this.

If you're using a port other than 80 you need to remember to specify the port when you connect. For example if you were using a web browser you would enter http://www.example.com:8200/.
