Forwarding a subdomain to a specific URL

I have a specific thing I am attempting to do. I am trying to redirect a sub domain of my URL, for this purpose file.example.com to an existing public URL. More specifically a public link to a google document.

The URL I am trying to point to is formatted as such: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0ArxKRlE (broken URL for example only)

My first attempt was to do a webhop but that was giving me this error, "404: Host Not Found No Webhop host exists at the given domain name!"

I did more research and saw someone indicate I should instead map this as a CNAME alias, but the DYN system says: Incorrect data for CNAME record

The domain, example.com is registered with DYN for Domain, Secret Domain, and DYN Standard DNS Service.

You need to ensure that the destination URL works. Then if it does you should be able to create a WebHop as you've suggested you were trying to - it's something I've done before myself.

Other posts suggest similar problems, so it may be that it takes a little bit before the WebHop is active - I don't know.
