Updater Not Working on Telstra/Bigpond Cable

I have a customer who has Telstra/Bigpond Cable for their internet connection with a dynamic IP and need to use an updater for remote connection. I setup the updater in the modemd (like I have done many, many times before) but it did not update the IP. I then downloaded the DynDNS Updater and installed on the PC ok but although it appears that it is working the IP is still not updated. I set it up on a notebook and still no go but if I take it to another internet connection the updater on the notebook works fine.The problem definitely appears related to the ISP ie Bigpond. Does anyone know of any problems using the updater on Telstra/Bigpond Cable?

The logs should show you something - what do they say?

I connected to the site (via Logmein) to get a copy of the logs and with me not doing anything at all, it is now working. Did not work for 3 days or more and now is updating fine......go figure.....
