Confirm Email Gateway BackupMX is working

is there any way to determine if the Mail Gateway stored any mail while our mail server was down.

If mail would have been stored it would have been delivered after your mail server came up again. If it didn't deliver mail, then most likely no mail arrived to be stored.

Btw, you can test this as well while following Cry Havok's steps, but bring your mail server down while sending the mail from another mail client to your mail gateway.

To test it, simply:

1. Disable all anti-spam filtering options in Backup MX
2. Configure your email client to use mx2.mailhop.org as it's SMTP server
3. Send yourself an email
4. Reset the email client's settings

I know the Mail Gateway is working. My question is; is there any way to determine if the Mail Gateway stored any mail while our mail server was down.
