NOTE: in case it's not well known, dlinkddns is administered by dyndns, which is why I was directed to this forum... I am using a D-Link DIR-655 router set up for remote access and DDNS. In the past everything has worked OK. However, now it does not work. Here are the symptoms: http://gansystems.dlinkddns.com:8080 is supposed to get me into the admin of my router (from the outside of course). However it does not work. On the other hand, if I type the router's external IP address into my browser (again, from outside, of course), it works as advertised. That IP address is currently 76.69.17.117 (as confirmed by checking the router settings from the inside) - and that same IP address is shown correctly in my dlinkddns account. In short, http:// 76.69.17.117:8080 works but http://gansystems.dlinkddns.com:8080 does not. My dlinkddns account is in good standing and all its settings appear to be correct. What could possibly be wrong and how can I fix it? thanks for any advice!!
