email to backup dynamic IP

Hi All, My main adsl line with a static IP keeps dropping connection.

I have set up a USB 3g dongle with dynamic ip as a temporary backup. i have also created a host name with dyndns free.

How do i get my emails to go through to the back up connection when my main adsl line is down?

You'd want to set up the hostname that resolves to your 3G dongle's IP address as a lower priority MX (higher number) for your domain.

This, of course, assumes that the WAN IP for the 3G link is not an RFC 1918 IP address. If it is then you cannot use it for remote access or mail delivery to your mail server.
